Elmira Stove Works
Tom Hendrick, the company's founder, first became involved in the appliance industry in the early 1970s. Local Mennonites near Elmira, Ontario that live with no electricity would frequent Hendrick's hardware store searching for replacement parts for their old wood cookstoves, as new ones were no longer available. Hendrick foresaw a market and purchased the rights to build an original model. This wood model became popular among owners of farm homes, cabins and cottages across North America, but people now wanted the look of that woodstove with the convenience of a modern appliance.
Today, Elmira offers a complete line of Antique and Retro Styled Appliances. Ranges are hand-built with features that are usually only found on professional-style appliances. Electric ovens are standard, true-convection and gas are optional; all are self-cleaning with waist-high broiling. Gas burner sizes vary between 8000 and 15000 BTUs and have simmer settings as low as 450 BTUs.
Elmira's product line also includes matching refrigerators, convection wall ovens, microwaves and dishwasher panel kits.
Elmira recently introduced Northstar Retro Appliances. Ranges, refrigerators and hoods; complete with rounded corners, lots of chrome, analog clocks and trendy colors, no detail has been overlooked. For those who dare to be different, Elmira will custom-paint any color you can dream up.
