Identity Expression
Our foundry produces bronzes of a delicacy and balance that can stand or hang at the boundary between sculpture and painting. Martha Dunham, Bill Vaegemast, Frank Junk and Metal Man Armand make up the team of artists with a combined experience of over 50 years.
The idea for Identity Expression comes from Martha. She trained as a scientist with an emphasis on animal behavior. The study of animal behavior today focuses on the individual. This focus shapes Martha's understanding of human behavior as well. "I see the polished exterior as evidence of who people want to be, and I study their inner identity by watching how they interact with others, the way they choose their words and their unconscious body language." Martha began making sculpture as she was writing her dissertation. Soon she found that art was more engaging than academia and the results more satisfying. She took the plunge to create art fulltime over ten years ago and has never looked back.
