KlipTech Composites
KlipTech History
KlipTech Composites was first conceptualizing in June of 2000. Almost two years of working with product samples and a business plan KlipTech finally brought their products to market by starting the company in April of 2002.
KlipTech's Mission:
"Our goal is to design, develop, manufacture and market the most durable, environmentally friendly, innovative, & cost effective composites and resins system in the world" -Joel Klippert
Our founder Joel Klippert, is the VP of KlipTech and the man behind its products. Joel has spent the past 7 years working with composite products designed for the Counter Top, Vertical Surface, Marine, Extreme Sports, and many other markets. KlipTech has three engineers that work in concert with them and their products. Klippert says, "The three of them combined have well over 100 years of experience working with many different types of composites. They are all so smart and when I come to them with ideas they don't laugh they go to work and tell me what can and can not happen with each design."
"I am driven by the environment. Right now we are focused on making a water based resin system that works well with high amounts of post-consumer recycled paper. Today we have a proprietary paper made for us that has a minimum of 50% post-consumer content but we have a goal to go all the way to 100%. Having a clean and green water based resin that will saturate a high amount of recycled paper is very difficult. I don't think people out there truly appreciate what we are doing; 5 years ago I couldn't find a paper manufacture that would guarantee 10% of post consumer recycled content and today we have a guaranteed minimum of 50%. On top of that we have a 100% water based resin system! One day we plan to have a product that is made from 100% post consumer recycled and a water based resin system that is totally petroleum free!
We currently manufacture all the KlipTech products in Washington State in three different locations. We manufacture our resins and do our impregnation out on the coast in Hoquiam. The pressing is currently done in two locations, one in Tacoma and the other in Port Angeles while all the final cutting and packaging is done at the main plant back in Hoquiam. We are currently looking at two new facilities where we can consolidate all the pressing, cutting and packaging. KlipTech also keeps a satellite sales office in Puyallup, WA.
KlipTech plans to bring more new and innovative products to specific industries over the course of the coming year. "We will continually innovate. Innovation is the key to the future in our minds and we will be working day after day to bring this to our customers and potential customers," said Klippert.
