Omniglow Corporation
• 1963 – U.S. Government research begins to develop a practical lighting system
that does not generate heat or require electricity to operate. The result is chemiluminescence.
• 1986 – Omniglow is formed in Novato, California to manufacture and sell chemical light products, initially to the military, and then into other markets.
• 1993 – Omniglow purchases American Cyanamid's chemical light business, securing its worldwide leadership position in the industry.
• 1996 – Omniglow opens sales and marketing office in Tokyo and manufacturing facilities in Fukuoka, Japan.
• 1997 – Corporate headquarters and manufacturing are moved from Novato, California to West Springfield, Massachusetts; sales and marketing office is
retained in California.
• 1999 – Manufacturing facility and offices open in southern France; sales and marketing offices in France and England.
• 2001 – Omniglow opens manufacturing facilities in Mexico.
• 2002 – Omniglow opens chemical and manufacturing facilities in China.
Today, the company manufactures over 160 million GLOW products each year including novelty jewelry and toys for consumer entertainment, items for outdoor sports and recreation, and products that identify, signal, warn, and protect for a wide variety of commercial safety, emergency, industrial and military markets.
